Green Computing Pledge
I pledge to
practice Green Computing by:
- Using technology to support a paperless environment. For example,
emailing work instead of printing.
- Powering off or placing my
computer into a sleep mode when I am not using it.
- Enabling power settings that automatically turn off my display when
the computer is idle. (Learn how here.)
- Thinking twice before printing anything, particularly something from
the Web.
- Reducing my paper use by printing and copying double sided.
(Learn how to print double sided here.)
- Using rechargeable batteries instead of disposable batteries.
- Properly recycling electronic devices instead of throwing them in
the trash.
- Making copies on copy machines
and not on our printers.
By practicing
green computing practices, I am helping the Academy of the Sacred
Heart reduce its environmental footprint.
